DocuSign information
Information on what is required for DocuSign configuration and what it can do in your system
What does my business need to do?
Before you purchase DocuSign, it's best to discuss with them what works for your business needs. The functionality from FlowLogic to Docusign is the same as long as the subscription contains API access (this is important). This is usually offered with a Business Pro account, but we ask that you review carefully with DocuSign to ensure it has the needs.
We at FlowLogic are happy to discuss how the connection will work and what it can do.
We at FlowLogic are happy to discuss how the connection will work and what it can do.
How does our connection with DocuSign work?
Our connection with DocuSign collates the PDF view of a record from FlowLogic, and sends it to DocuSign for processing. The PDF is sent with tags on certain fields to identify they are editable or mandatory for filling. When the form is completed by all individuals (up to 5) then the PDF is then sent back as an electronic history receipt and a completed document into the record file upload fields.
What does FlowLogic require?
To help us connect FlowLogic to DocuSign, we need administrative access, or access enough to be able to see API key information. We are happy to use an account, or to help instruct via a meeting on how to get and send the information to us securely, for us to configure the API connection.
We will need enough information to be able to complete these fields (the 'default DocuSign account' is optional)
What's the timeframe?
We can discuss the needs of the business, but we will only start work after we have:
-
Defined the scope of works to complete
-
The invoice is paid for the works
After that, we will be able to start immediately and may take us a business day to do the configuration pending availability. This includes configuration of at least one form for DocuSign compatibility.
After we have done our parts, we then submit to DocuSign to authorise the connection to your account. This can take anywhere from 48 hours to 2 months, depending on the audit requirements required by DocuSign. This time starts from the moment we complete their Manual Approval form (after FlowLogic configures the instance)
We have written instructions to assist and can also be available to guide through the process to ensure accurate completion for a timely response. If DocuSign declines, we may try again at any time, but the waiting period starts afresh.
What does a basic connection setup cover?
Your particular agreement may vary from the basic connection. All FlowLogic x DocuSign connections include at minimum:
- Work performed to connect FlowLogic to your DocuSign
-
1 FlowLogic form configured for compatibility with DocuSign
-
Support meetings for any initial connection configuration steps
-
1 recorded training/walkthrough meeting to demonstrate how to use the form and to highlight the changes.
- Written instructions to help with building more DocuSign compatible forms
What fields can I use in a DocuSign form?
There are four fields that are compatible with DocuSign
-
Text Box
-
Radio List
-
On-Screen Signature
-
Upload Field
There is also capacity for extra markup performed by DocuSign that will be saved to the final document.
Please note that while the fields are compatible with DocuSign, the information provided by DocuSign does not appear in the individual fields, they will all be uploaded into the final document within the record itself. We currently do not have the functionality to enable fields to be directly filled in via DocuSign.
If you wish for this kind of interactivity, we also have our FlowPoint customer portal that allows for our inbuilt signature and form filling options. Please reach out if you're interested in knowing more.
